Jordan Wilson – A Highway Hero

Nominated by: Gordon Kaltenhauser
Works for:
Hawkeye Holdings Ltd, Kelowna, BC

If drivers are the “highway heroes” in moving freight, then the dispatchers and load planners are the “office heroes” that are the glue, that holds it all together.

And no one does it better than Jordan Wilson of Hawkeye Holdings.

A most stressful and demanding position, Jordan makes it look like child’s play, and remains calm and effective under the most challenging situations. Trucks break down. Loads get cancelled. Shippers/receivers are often-times unavoidably delayed, resulting in driver and shipment delays. Throw in inclement weather, highways closures, or lengthy detours, it all adds to the dispatchers stress level. But Jordan He also finds time, and is very active as one of the Board of Directors of the BC Trucking Association.

With a wife and young children, and the recent Covid-19 Pandemic, he’s also made time, and quite often puts on his “Mr. Mom” hat, to assist in the home schooling process. He also doesn’t sleep himself, until he KNOWS that all his drivers have safely landed for the night.

I have worked for many “bosses’ over the years, and I can say without reservation, it has been an absolute pleasure to have Jordan Wilson as my boss, dispatcher, load planner, safety officer… need I say more?
